2015 Adventure
Out 'n' About Treehouse Resort
Friday, July 31
You ever have a vacation that you just want to grab with both hands from the get-go? This was it. Our group drove five hours from Portland to Takilma, Oregon, southwest of Grants Pass, and home of the Out 'n' About Treehouse Resort. Optional activities on the way down included a stop at Wildlife Safari in Winston, Oregon for lunch with a cheetah. Four families provided dinner of flank steak, pasta, sides, and hot dogs for the kids. We explored the treehouses, walked the suspension bridges, and played on the rope swings. Yeah, s'mores!
Pro tip: adults, toast your marshmallow and then dip in Baileys. You're welcome.

The treehouse resort had ziplines, disc golf, horseback riding, a swimming hole, volleyball, ping pong, and billiards. A few families ventured to see the Oregon Caves. Others tried horse back riding. The rest just explored the property and played games. Five families provided a fajita-style taco dinner. The night ended with a talent show on the main stage with adults and kids showing off their skills! There may or may not have been beers late into the night.
Sunday, August 2
The entire group ventured to Happy Camp, California for a day of white-water rafting on the Klamath River with LIquid Expeditions Rafting. This guided trip ventured about six miles and was a great first rafting trip experience for a lot of the kids. Adults tried their hand at kayaking the rapids and crushed it. Kids and adults swam in the river during down times We even saw a couple of bald eagles. After the trip, we took a team picture at the the famous Bigfoot monument in Happy Camp. That night we enjoyed another group dinner consisting of great leftovers from the first two nights. Can you say more s'mores? Don't forget the Baileys on your next trip.

We all said goodbye and recorded last minute memories of a fantastic family vacation. This place provided long-lasting memories from every day of our trip. We can't wait to get back and do it all again.
